Mato Homola is showing no signs of slowing down in the FIA European Touring Car Cup. After taking his first ETCC win of 2015 at Brno earlier this month, the rising Slovak star came out on top in Testing 1 at Zolder this afternoon.

Driving a SEAT León Cup Racer, Homola lapped the 4.0-kilometre Belgian track in a session-best of 1m42.241s to edge out Single Make Trophy title leader Dušan Borković (Serbia) by 0.497s.

Swiss Ronny Jost was next up in another SEAT with Czech Michal Matĕjovský setting the TC2 class pace in fourth in his normally aspirated BMW. Germany’s Andreas Pfister was fourth fastest in SMT and fifth quickest overall, with Petr Fulín close behind as less than one second covered the top four drivers.

Peter Rikli (Switzerland) was second quickest in TC2 in his Honda with Turkey’s Aytaç Biter fastest in TC2T in a BMW, while TC2T championship pacesetter Davit Kajaia was third in class in P11 overall.

Niklas Mackschin (Germany) was the fastest Super 1600 contender with ETCC returnee Ben Lintgen sixth in class in a similar Ford Fiesta.

All 19 drivers entered for the weekend’s ETCC double-header took part in the 45-minute session, which took place in sunny but windy conditions. The next 45-minute test begins at 16h30 local time. Click here to view the Testing 1 classification.
