Season best ETCC fifth for Lalušić

Mladen Lalušić might not have been able to convert his reverse-grid pole position into a maiden FIA European Touring Car Cup victory but he nevertheless scored a season-high fifth place in the second of two races at FIA ETCC Race of Hungaroring last weekend.

The young Serbian driver started Race 2 at the head of the field by finishing Race 1 in the all-important eighth place, which converts to pole position for the day-closing race under ETCC regulations.

Although he couldn’t hold on to first place, fifth position still represented useful points for the Lein Racing SEAT driver.

Fábio Mota fought for a podium finish in both FIA European Touring Car Cup races at Zolder – but had to settle for a best result of fourth place scored in the first of two races in Belgium.
