Peter Rikli said he was “very bitter” after a second victory in as many events slipped from his grasp in the FIA European Touring Car Cup.

After a track limits penalty cut short his winning celebrations at Monza last month, the Swiss was on course to land his first win of the new ETCC season in the second of two races at the Hungaroring last weekend.

However, a mechanical fault on the final lap dropped him from first to P10 in the final classification as Rikli Motorsport team-mate Christjohannes Schreiber went on to take victory, his third in four races.

“A cheap part is broken and it’s the second victory running through my fingers – I’m very bitter,” said Rikli.

Anett György says her Nürburgring Nordschleife initiation is getting easier ahead of rounds five and six of the FIA European Touring Car Cup today.

Andreas Pfister insists he can’t go any faster in the FIA European Touring Car Cup. The German’s SEAT León is built to an older specification, which means it’s slower than the cars used by most of his rivals.

Igor Stefanovski wants a podium return in the FIA European Touring Car Cup, starting with tomorrow’s races on the Nürburgring Nordschleife.

Fábio Mota hit back from a tough start to his second season in the FIA European Touring Car Cup by claiming a deserved third place on the grid for Saturday’s first race.

On pole for the first time in 2017, FIA European Touring Car Cup title leader continued his impressive start to the season at the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife. This is what the Rikli Motorsport Honda driver had to say.

Christjohannes Schreiber has scored the first pole in this season’s FIA European Touring Car Cup, edging Petr Fulín by 0.079s in the closing moments of qualifying on the Nürburgring Nordschleife.
