Rudolf Pešović will complete the 2017 FIA European Touring Car Cup season in ASK GM Racing’s Audi RS3 LMS.

The French-born, US-domiciled Serb scored points on his debut ETCC race weekend at the Hungaroring in mid-April with seventh place in the second of two races at the track.

He returns for the season-closing rounds at Zolder (15-17 September) and Most (6-8 October) when he will be a contender for points finishes.

ETCC consultant Eric Nève said: “It’s great Rudi is returning to the ETCC for what promise to be two entertaining events as this exciting season draws to a close at Zolder and Most. After scoring points in Hungary, we hope Rudi will enjoy more success in Belgium and Czech Republic.”

ASK GM Racing Team Co-ordinator Petar Jankovic said: “We’re very pleased to be coming back to the ETCC following a successful outing at the Hungaroring in early May. Hopefully we can score more points at two entertaining venues.”

Petr Fulín tops the ETCC standings after eight events, 13 points ahead of Christjohannes Schreiber with Norbert Nagy and Igor Stefanovski just two points behind Schreiber. Plamen Kralev, from Bulgaria, is the other Audi RS3 LMS exponent in the ETCC driving for Kraf Racing.

Fábio Mota fought for a podium finish in both FIA European Touring Car Cup races at Zolder – but had to settle for a best result of fourth place scored in the first of two races in Belgium.

Seventeen-year-old Czech Václav Nimč will step up to the FIA European Touring Car Cup when the all-action series visits his homeland next month for ETCC Race of Most, the final event of the 12-round season.

Rudolf Pešović has explained what went wrong in Race 2 at FIA ETCC Race of Zolder – and his hopes for being back in action for Most finale next month.

Andreas Pfister reckons fifth place is as good as it could have got when the FIA European Touring Car Cup returned to Zolder last weekend.

Petr Fulín has publically thanked his Křenek Motorsport team for the work it did to keep his FIA European Touring Car Cup title bid on course.

Christjohannes Schreiber, Igor Stefanovski, Peter Rikli, Norbert Nagy and Petr Fulín attended the post-race press conference at FIA ETCC Race of Zolder. This is what they had to say.
