Local hero Fulín elected to sit out the 30-minute session at Brno in order to prioritise his supply of Yokohama tyres for the weekend’s competitive action, leaving Homola to take the glory in his similar SEAT León Cup Racer.

“We look forward to the qualifying to keeping the tyres for that,” said Fulín, who was fastest in Testing 1 and 2 earlier in the day. “So far we have been competitive and I hope we continue like this.”

Single Make Trophy contender Homola, from neighbouring Slovakia, was 0.339s quicker than Germany’s Andreas Pfister with SMT title leader Dušan Borković (Serbia) third quickest in another SEAT. Dejan Bulatović (Montenegro) was fourth, Ronny Jost (Switzerland) fifth and Georgian BMW driver Davit Kajaia sixth and first in TC2T.

Behind seventh fastest Mladen Lalušić, Peter Rikli topped TC2 in his self-run Honda after class rival Michal Matĕjovský followed Křenek Motorsport team-mate Fulín’s lead by remaining in the pits throughout the session. Aytaç Biter was the top Turk in ninth, one place ahead of rising Swiss talent Daniel Conrad as Niklas Mackschin set the pace in Super 1600.

Qualifying is next for the ETCC runners with the action due to begin at 17h00 local time. Click here for the Free Practice classification.
