Igor Stefanovski isn’t ruling out more FIA title success in this season’s European Touring Car Cup.

A double FIA European Hillclimb champion, the Macedonian is equal third in the ETCC standings – 15 points off the lead – with four races remaining.

“When I look back at the start of the season and remember what we all in the team went through to be this far, it surely feels surreal to hold the third place and to have any mathematical chance to win this championship,” said Stefanovski. “We all learned a lot from each other and from other teams as well.

“The rate of progress in our team can be seen from miles away. On the first race we were all happy to finish in the points, but on the last race I had to cheer everyone up because we finished two times on the podium, but did not score a victory so talk about high expectations. We are all ready to fight for it, and with a little bit of luck I just hope we can take the opportunity if we have a chance.”

ETCC Race of Zolder takes place from 15-17 September.

Fábio Mota fought for a podium finish in both FIA European Touring Car Cup races at Zolder – but had to settle for a best result of fourth place scored in the first of two races in Belgium.
