23 Jun 2012Fernando Monje – S2000: “It was not difficult for me to find the right feeling with the track. I have been the fastest in all the sessions since yesterday and this makes me very confident for tomorrow’s race. My goal is clear: clinching the European title. I have a 14-point margin over Rikli who will start behind me. If I am able to take a good start, then I will have good chances to win.”
Paolo Necchi – S1600: “I came to Imola with the aim of winning pole position. And I’m happy I succeeded. This was the only way to try and fight for the title, as Kevin Krammes has a 16-point leading margin. Tomorrow my only goal is to win both races and wait for Kevin’s results. I like a lot this track, but you must pay a lot of attention, because it is very easy to lose control of the car.”
Fabio Fabiani – Super Production: “To race at Imola is a special feeling for me, as I live only a few kilometres away. Winning pole position today was easy, because my only competitor, Karamyshev, blew his engine. I hope he can race tomorrow, because I expect to have a couple of good fights with him!”
Stian Paulsen – Single-Make Trophy: “Starting from pole position in the class is very important, although my competitor in the title fight, Andreas Pfister, has chased me closely for the whole session and set the second fastest lap. I have only a two-point lead over him and tomorrow I expect we will be fighting in all the corners in both races. But I’m confident!”
