20 May 2012Fernando Monje – Winner S2000: “Race 1 wasn’t so easy because of the penalty I got in Slovakia, plus I got caught up in an incident at the chicane early in the race. Then I started to overtake people and I knew then that I had a chance to win. Race 2 was the same - once I started to pass other drivers, I had the confidence to push for the victory. I have a twelve point lead going to Imola and I hope that I can keep that kind of advantage and win Super 2000 - that’s been my aim all season.”
Andreas Pfister – Winner SMT: “It’s very tough between me and Stian, so I have to say thanks to the team for giving me such a strong car this weekend. I had an incident involving an Alfa Romeo in the second race and after that I had no power steering, so it was hard just to finish the race. I told you after Qualifying that this is my home race and I have to say that I’m very happy with the weekend. I’m looking forward to Imola, but with only one point between us I know it will be a big fight for the Championship.”
Kevin Krammes – Winner S1600: “I have what looks like a big lead going into the final races, but the others are really fast now and Paolo Necchi will be fighting hard at Imola, I’m sure. I was quite surprised at the speed of the two Chevrolets this weekend, if I’m being honest, but my focus is on the Championship and so I only want to concentrate on my performance.”
Nikolay Karamyshev – Winner SP: “Qualifying was very close – only six thousandth of a second between us – so I knew it was going to be another hard fight this weekend. We had a small gearbox problem, but I must say that all the contact between us was very unfair. We have an eleven point lead, but we won’t be settling for second place at Imola and so we will be fighting for the Championship in both races.”
