The 20-year old Argentine has previously raced in his home Country’s Formula Renault, and he was fighting for the 2011 title.
“I am so excited for this new challenge with Maurer Motorsport. I wish to achieve good results during my first season with them and in Europe,” he said.
Borgnino is the first Argentine driver to race in the ETCC since Juan-Pablo Zampa and Eugenio Breard won the European Touring Car Championship’s Division 1 title with an Alfa Romeo Alfasud Sprint car back in 1977.
